About Us

Our Mission

FertilityCare Center of Birmingham's mission is to bring knowledge and understanding of fertility and women's
health to couples and women of all ages, from adolescence to perimenopause.  This education is achieved through the
teaching of the Creighton Model FertilityCare System. This system is a medically based, effective, and natural system
that works with the natural cyclical nature of human fertility to achieve pregnancy, avoid pregnancy, and monitor
gynecological health.

How the System Works

The CrMS relies upon the standardized observation and charting of biological markers that are  essential to a woman's health and fertility. These "biomarkers" tell the couple when they are naturally fertile and  infertile. These biomarkers also indicate and document abnormalities in a woman's health. The system is simple to use,  learn, and interpret, and best of all, it is tailor-made for each individual's situation.  We work with regular and irregular cycles, breastfeeding, pre-menopause, pregnancy, post pill, anovulatory states, and any other situation.

Why Use Creighton?

Because of the standardization of the method, great advances have been made by researchers under the leadership of Dr. Thomas W. Hilgers, at the Pope Paul VI Institute, Omaha, Nebraska (http://www.popepaulvi.com) in the identification and treatment of many reproductive disorders afflicting women from adolescence to menopause. To reflect those medical advances the current name was adopted in 1999.  The system continues to be an excellent system to achieve or avoid
pregnancy but now has the added component of being an excellent reproductive health monitoring tool for women.
